Psychosexual therapy is a talking based treatment that applies bespoke psychotherapy assessments, formulation, psychoeducation and treatment around specific sexual difficulties.
Psychosexual difficulties can result from a range of issues such as underlying physiological issues, emotional, psychological or relationship issues or a combination of these. Sexual and intimacy difficulties may present as sexual pain or discomfort, communication issues, use of porn or sexually compulsive behaviours, reduced or lack of desire and erectile difficulties. Finding the courage to seek help is a good first step to exploring the impact of sexual dysfunction and making positive change and personal growth. As a Psychosexual therapist I can support relationships to improve communication and create opportunity for relationships to flourish as well as provide supportive and evidence-based interventions to support sexual difficulties and dysfunction
You may be feeling unhappy or frustrated with certain aspects of your relationship and struggle with communication and making positive change. Busy lives, managing careers, having a family, looking after others can create difficulties in the ability to find time for each other which can be a cause for people to slowly drift apart.
Whatever your relationship style, sexual orientation or background, whether you come alone or with a partner, relationship therapy can enable you to explore and share difficulties within the relationship. It is an opportunity to consider different perspectives, explore problems and find ways to break down barriers and improve communication.
Improvements may include:

As an Art therapist I aim to provide a creative and expressive space to explore psychological and emotional difficulties. Art therapy uses art as the primary mode of expression and can involve talking with through the creative process. It aims to reduce distress and improve social, emotional and mental health by promoting insight, exploring self-compassion and a sense of agency and self-worth.
During art therapy, you are supported to use art to express and articulate often complex thoughts and feelings through art making.
This may be exploring difficult or traumatic experiences which may be hard to talk about through talking therapies.
Is an evidenced based treatment option for working through trauma and traumatic events. The overall goal is to free negative and maladaptive thinking patterns about yourself that have been often locked away in your brain and body and establish new/healthier ways of thinking.
Sometimes we work on processing one “single” event (e.g., one time being bit by a dog). Other times we process a “theme” of beliefs that have built up over time (e.g., “I’m not good enough”). Think of it as whatever is upsetting you now, could be what is most likely linked to something that happened in the past.
Through the bilateral stimulation we are able to awaken disturbing memories and reprocessing in real time. It’s like having 1 foot in the past memory and 1 foot in the present working with the therapist on replacing the narrative. We can change the narrative from “I’m not good enough” to “I’m ok the way I am”. EMDR can be so powerful and life changing and it aims to integrate the body and mind to heal a bit faster than traditional talk therapy.
